SEFF Conference in London!
21-22 June, 2011
On 21 and 22 of June, 2011 SEFF conference was held in London, in which some 17 countries participated with Energy Efficiency Financing Facility. Seminar was held at EBRD headquarters in London. First day of the seminar was dedicated to the presentations by different SEFFs and discussions about concerns and achievements in different countries. Second day was dedicated to more pratical trainings of SEFFs by EBRD staff members in issues like publicity, management and contracts.
EnergoCredit in Bank of Georgia!

From 7th of December 2010, Bank of Georgia became a part of Energy Efficiency Creditline (EnergoCredit) funded by EBRD and is giving out loans for Corporative as well as Residential Customers.
For residential loans 15% of subsidy on the products is available. For detailed information please contact Bank of Georgia branches or our office.
Award Ceremony of Journalists!

On 2nd of July, GEEP together with USAID/NATELI project held joint award ceremony for Journalists at Betsy’s Hotel, the awards were given to those Journalists who have contributed to the Energy Efficiency stories and TV/Radio broadcasting.

TBC Extends Energy Efficiency Lending Program to Households!

Tbilisi, 21 October, 2009 – Today, at an event held at their head office in Tbilisi, TBC Bank announced a
new lending product that will help Georgian households reduce energy bills and benefit from higher levels of comfort.
The new residential energy efficiency loans promote the use of higher efficiency products and for a limited time, eligible customers taking the new loans will benefit from a 15% rebate on the cost of their purchase.
TBC is the first bank in Georgia to extend this loan to its residential customers, as part of its Energy Efficiency programme, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). TBC Bank has been issuing these loans since 2007, however, until now the loans were only available to corporate clients. But from now on energy efficiency loans will be available for all creditworthy individual clients.
Open Invitation for Registration of Suppliers of Energy Efficient Equipment and Insulation

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has provided a 35 mill USD credit line for local Georgian banks to make loans for high quality energy efficient equipment. A new scheme for loans to residential clients of TBC Bank will be launched in October, and is expected to be extended later to other local banks. Loans will be eligible for a subsidy of 15% provided by the company BP. EBRD consultants, GEEP, a team of international and local engineers, will identify and approve the use of equipment supplied using the loans.
The following types of equipment will be eligible:
• Double glazed windows
• Insulation of buildings - walls, roofs and floors
• Boilers for central heating systems
• Solar panels for water heating/central heating systems
• High efficiency biomass stoves
• Bio digesters for single family use
Suppliers are required to install their products and provide guarantees to their customers.
The advantages to approved suppliers are:
• Finance for their customers
• Publicity for their products and services
Products and services will be checked by the GEEP team and if approved as meeting the specification, the name of approved suppliers and products will be listed on the website and supplied to Participant Banks. There is no deadline for suppliers to register now, and suppliers can apply to register at any time in the future.
Suppliers with products and services meeting the ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA are invited to register on the website: www.energocredit.ge and provide technical information on their products to the address: office@geep.ge in order to become an ELIGIBLE SUPPLIER for the residential loans.

The subsidy scheme is part of the Energy Efficiency and Energy Education Program for Georgian Communities initiated and funded by BP and its Oil and Gas co-venturers. The goal of the program is to raise awareness of consumers on effective and safe usage of energy, as well as to improve access to renewable energy sources.
Regional Seminar Held in Batumi!

GEEP held its regional seminar in Batumi at the Intourist Palace Hotel on 19th of June, 2009 with around 30 companies from Western Georgia as well as the representatives from TBC and Bank Republic.
The regional seminar presented the new financial product "Energocredit" which provides loans specially designed for industrial firms to replace old equipment and save energy. The savings should be sufficient to pay back the loans. During the seminar, a video was shown of an energy audit, showing how firms could get advice on how to reduce their energy consumption or replace their equipment. The video can be downloaded here.
Firms attending the meeting were able to have individual consultations with GEEP, a group of international and local consultants, who are supported by EBRD funds and available free of charge to TBC and Bank Republic customers.
Announcement of Winner Journalists!

Journalists Nino Edilashvili from Business Week, Shorena Kokorashvili from Business News, and Bela Nozadze from TV Channel Rustavi 2 received recognition for their contribution to energy efficiency awareness and cash prizes from the Georgian Energy Efficiency Project (GEEP) on Thursday December 18.
Energocredit Team held Training Course for Journalists!

Energocredit held one day training course in Gudauri for Georgian Journalists about Energy Efficiency issues and its importance to Georgia. Various representatives of press, radio and TV were present at the training. Training course comprised of energy efficiency issues, new developments in this field and Georgian reality. At the end of the training course the Journalists' Competition was announced for best coverage in industrial and residential energy efficiency.
